We have collaborated with Vancouver-based design studio Banquet Atelier & Workshop on this exclusive backpack. The playful illustrations were inspired by the art and history of ancient Egypt, celebrating the lives and beliefs of a culture that has been a compelling subject for scholarly examination and an unending supply of fascination for centuries.
To the Egyptians, who associated certain animals with specific deities, the falcon was a sacred creature. They linked the soaring bird of prey with Horus, the falcon- headed king of the gods. As the chief god, Horus embodied the concept of kingship and therefore protected the ruling pharaoh.
