Adapted from a 1932 piece in the Museum’s collection, our Picasso The Dreamer
Scarf features a sensual image of Pablo Picasso’s (Spanish, 1881–1973) young mistress, Marie-Thérèse Walter, asleep. Picasso influenced the development of modern art with unparalleled magnitude. Over the course of his long and prolific career―from the time he was a teenager into his nineties―he produced over 20,000 works in various media and styles. His multi-sided genius is richly reflected in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
