French Art Deco designs often featured geometricized flowers and foliage, such as the pattern we have adapted for our stylish bracelet. The original drawing in the Museum’s collection, created about 1910–29 by an unidentified French designer, shows a horizontal panel with overlapping leaf-shaped forms. It is one of a group of 158 textile designs, which include both brightly colored patterns and single motifs in the late Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles; some of these designs also have instructions for execution, written in French.
