The latticework pattern on the Museums bangle bracelet is based on a design for a silver box signed in Russian, Court Jeweler C. Faberg. The workshop of Peter Carl Faberg (Russian, 18461920) never made the box, but the drawing survives.

Made expressly for the Metropolitan Museum in the United States.

Peter Carl Faberg (Russian, 18461920) was twenty-four years old when he took over his fathers jewelry business in St. Petersburg, Russia. He revolutionized the way jewelry was evaluated in Russia by emphasizing the design creativity and workmanship involved instead of just the value of the precious stones and metals. Fabergs studios produced a wide variety of objets dart, including jeweled Easter eggs, clocks, jewelry, boxes, and frames.
