The lavish bouquet on our lovely ornament is derived from a luxurious wool and silk tapestry in the Museum’s collection. The original was likely woven in the 1720s in the London workshop of Joshua Morris (probably active 1700–1728) after a design by Andien de Clermont (French, active 1717–83), a painter of decorative subjects who worked in England between about 1716 and 1754.
