A pioneer in the development of chromolithography, Louis Prang's (1824–1909) colorful album cards were wildly popular during the Victorian age. The butterflies fluttering across our beautiful vase are from The Butterflies and Moths of America
(1860 and 1862), one of Prang’s series of album cards in the Museum’s collection.
