Art History

The Elizabethan herbalist John Gerards description of the plant that he names in Latin as Papaver cornutum flore luteo, the horned poppy with the yellow flower, was based on personal observation. Naturalized in the United States, yellow horned poppy grows on the east and west coasts as well as in Colorado and Oklahoma.
