Each section begins with an introductory essay, followed by individual entries that are accompanied by a photo, tribal affiliation, geographic area, and object information. All entries include provenance as well as information regarding museum exhibitions and publications in which the object has appeared. In addition, most objects feature essays by the some of the leading scholars of American Indian art.
