Yes. We offer several gift shops inside the Museum at 1000 Fifth Avenue and at The Cloisters museum and gardens. In addition, The Met Store has retail locations in a number of major US and international metropolitan areas. We welcome you to visit The Met Store retail location nearest you.
eGift Certificates can be purchased online at store.metmuseum.org and sent to the recipient via email. eGift Certificates can only be redeemed by the owner of the email address entered so be sure to verify the recipient’s email address. The Met Store cannot redirect or refund eGift Certificates sent to an incorrect email address. See Terms & Conditions.
In order to redeem an eGift Certificate, register an account and sign in to The Met Store online using the email address at which you received the eGift Certificate. When you are ready to checkout, click on "Redeem an eGift Certificate" in the Additional Services area on the Order Review page and enter the claim code located in the eGift Certificate email you received from The Met Store.
If the amount of the eGift Certificate does not cover the order total, you will need to pay the balance by credit or debit card. If the amount of the eGift Certificate exceeds the order total, the balance will be converted to online Store Credit, stored in your account and applied automatically to your next order. Most of the items featured in our current catalogues are offered online. To order from our catalogue quickly and easily using item numbers, please see our Order From Our Catalogue feature. If you are unable to find an item online, or need assistance placing an order from our catalogue, please contact Customer Service.
On occasion, high demand may cause us to run out of stock on certain items. You may still add these items to your shopping bag, and we will retain these open items as "backorders." We will inform you of any delay in shipping that exceeds 30 days. Your credit card will not reflect any charges for these items until they are shipped to you.
We honor the tax-exempt status of eligible institutions, however, we are unable to process tax-exempt orders online. Please contact Customer Service and a representative will gladly instruct you to mail or fax your order with a copy of your exemption certificate.
Educators receive a 10% discount on educational materials at the Museum, however, you cannot automatically receive your discount online. Please contact Customer Service and a representative will gladly instruct you to mail or fax your order with a copy of your valid I.D. from an educational institution.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, and Discover. You may also redeem an eGift Certificate or use online store credit in your account as a method of payment.
Once you have registered online, you will be able to check the status of any order by visiting My Account . If you wish to change or cancel your order, please contact Customer Service and provide the order number found in your order confirmation email or the email address that you used during checkout, and we will be happy to assist you.
