Item# 80-010209

Description

Janet Fish’s (American, b. 1938) early experiments in still life painting produced images of silhouetted vegetables, followed by grocery-store produce wrapped in shiny plastic and objects inside glass jars. This led to the subject for which she is most celebrated: luminous glass surfaces, closely observed, in vibrant colors. Fish’s work has been associated with photorealism, but as a figurative painter her true subjects are light, color, and space. Our puzzle adapts Fish’s vibrant painting Raspberries and Goldfish.
