The Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Crèche at The Metropolitan Museum of Art are a long-established yuletide tradition in New York. The magnificent blue spruce —with a collection of eighteenth-century Neapolitan angels and cherubs among its boughs and groups of realistic crèche figures flanking the Nativity scene at its base— annually delights holiday visitors in the Museum’s Medieval Sculpture Hall. Our holiday cards depict the Nativity, with the holy family in the center, flanked by animals, angels, and cherubs in a classically decorated setting. Greeting: "When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy."— Matthew 2:10
