The Museum houses a group of stone relief panels from Ashurnasirpal II’s palace at Nimrud (ancient Kalhu), in northern Mesopotamia. A cuneiform inscription across the surface of the palace reliefs describes it: “I founded therein [a palace]… as my royal residence (and) for my lordly leisure for eternity.” Our stunning jacket design derives from this ancient inscription.
