Founded in 1919 in the city of Weimar by architect Walter Gropius, the Bauhaus was a utopian craft guild combining architecture, sculpture, painting, and applied arts and crafts into a single creative expression. A woven cotton textile in The Met collection, originally designed by the Bauhaus designer Grete Reichhardt (German, 1907–84), inspired our colorful men's scarf.
