One of the founders of the Arts and Crafts movement, William Morris (British, 1834–1896) created beautiful, handcrafted household objects that elevated decorative pieces to the realm of fine art. A prolific designer of densely patterned textiles and wallpapers, Morris used nature for his inspiration, seeking to “turn a room into a bower, a refuge.” Our beautiful notecards feature details from four Morris & Company designs in the Museum’s Collection.
