A talented writer, designer, and administrator, William Morris (British, 1834–1896) was one of the most influential figures of the British Victorian era. His lush textile and wallpaper patterns were often derived from indigenous English plants. The swirling floral motif on our tie is based on a Morris & Co. design drawing in the Metropolitan Museum’s collection; the original gouache on paper dates to about 1896.
Available in navy/red or light blue/beige. Silk. Imported. 3 1/2''W.
