Description

One of the most fashionable pieces of daytime jewelry worn by European women in the eighteenth century was the chatelaine. One such chatelaine in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum was made in Paris in the mid-eighteenth century by watchmaker Julien Le Roy (French, 16861759), who produced splendid timepieces for King Louis XV and the European nobility. The watch on this exquisite chatelaine, which is lavishly set with topazes and diamonds, is the source for our exquisite watch design.

Produced in cooperation with the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

Faceted case made of hand-cut German glass, and made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. Mother-of-pearl dial. Genuine suede band. Quartz movement. Case: 1 1/8''W; band: adjusts from 5 1/2'' to 7''L.
