ÂOur elegant holiday cards evoke the 14th-century Italian painting The Adoration of the Magi (ca. 1340–43), attributed to a Neapolitan follower of Giotto—an influential painter and architect from the Late Middle Ages. Originally part of a folding, multi-panel altarpiece, the artwork depicts the Virgin and Child surrounded by an adoring congregation of two angels and three Magi dressed in sumptuous gold-embroidered robes.
