Bow-Bedecked Evening Slipper Shoe Ornament
This stylish ornament reimagines a pair of American evening slippers (ca. 1898) in The Met collection. The short, pointed upturned toe of the Museum's slippers reflects French taste in the 1890s, and suggests that the shoes were either imported by a New York vendor or deliberately made in the French style for a special clientele. Our ornament reimagines the original cream-colored shoes in a dusty pink color, but adapts their attractive embroidery and standing bows.
