Description

The lush design on our cashmere-blend scarf is derived from a panel of British blackwork (1580–1620) in The Met collection. This style of monochrome silk embroidery on white linen was a fashionable embellishment in 16th- and 17th-century dress. The repeating pattern on this linen panel uses a variety of stitches, and displays flora typical of embroideries of the period: honeysuckle, pansies, borage, and grapes.
