Cardinal Crystal Ornament
A collectible crystal art ornament inspired by The Met.
Perched on a festive bough of holly, our ruby-red cardinal adorned with shimmering crystals nods to a commercial lithograph produced in 1888 by the Virginia-based tobacco company Allen & Ginter. The original trade card, now in The Met collection, belongs to a 50-piece series depicting various avian species titled Birds of America, which was designed to promote Allen & Ginter Brand Cigarettes.
