Celestial Octagonal Magnifier Pendant Necklace
Size Information
Art jewelry inspired by The Met collection.
Equal parts elegant and functional, our magnifier pendant draws on decorative details from a spectacular library table in The Met's American Wing. Crafted by an esteemed late 19th-century design firm known as Herter Brothers (German, active New York, 1864–1906), the star-spangled table was created for William Henry Vanderbilt's Fifth Avenue mansion library. Its stellar motif mirrors the constellations visible over the northern hemisphere on May 8, 1821—the day Vanderbilt was born.
