Louis C. Tiffany Gladioli Folding Umbrella
Our folding umbrella adapts the floral motif on an elegant Favrile glass vase in The Met collection. Designed circa 1909 by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933), this striking vessel is embellished with reaching spears of white gladioli, a popular subject among Art Nouveau artisans. The designer never sold this vase; rather, he kept it in his own collection.
