Description

Celebrating the beauty of the natural world, this piece highlights the pure elegance of unadorned herbs, shrubs, berries, and leaves. The necklace recalls the verdant gardens at The Met Cloisters, the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of the Middle Ages. Places of beauty and contemplation, the three enclosed gardens at The Met Cloisters contain more than 300 species of plants, which illuminate the important role that plants played in medieval art and life—from the medicinal to the allegorical.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Disappointed! This necklace is so beautiful, but impossible to wear! Due to its design some of the pearls and leaves lay right and the others twist and are backwards. If you fix those, others turn. I decided that it would never look right from moment to moment on a live person because a person moves so I decided to return it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely and classy! I purchased the necklace to compliment my cocktail dress I'll be wearing when attending a wedding event in Columbia at the end of this month. It will certainly give the final touch to the outfit I plan to wear. Not sure what year it was when I made my first purchase, 20-12-2012?? for a necklace "cloisters Holly and Ivy", from the Met Museum catalogue, I very much liked. Item # 80016121. Both items are not only an eye-catcher, delicate, classy and of excellent quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clasp is under valued This was purchased by my husband as he had been eyeing it for a year and this necklace a popular purchase. When it came in I was excited. However, the disappointment arose when opening up the small alabaster box. The necklace was located in a smaller clear Ziplocksque plastic bag looking twisted up. Thankfully, the necklace slid out without issue untangled though how much more presentable would it have been to be placed on a miniature display of cardboard in order to compliment the necklace and viewer. The necklace is lovely, but the clasp with money spent is outrageously under valued. As the receiver of this gift I fumble with the clasp post purchase as well as continue to have my expectations dashed in attempting to wear my lovely gift. As I have read other patrons complaints about the same issue about hook or clasp. Either is it difficult to put on or the eye and hook have them concerned. I hope The Met will read the concerns and consider small details in the future. Thank you for reading.
