A student of the natural world, Leonardo da Vinci (Italian, 1452–1519) likely drew A Bear Walking (ca. 1482–85) from life. The study, now in the Museum's Robert Lehman Collection, relates to group of bear drawings, probably created as part of a planned anatomical treatise. On this topic, Leonardo wrote, "I will discourse of the hands of each animal to show in what way they vary, as in the bear which has the ligatures of the toes joined above the instep."
Leonardo's incredibly lifelike drawing inspired our distinctive cuff links.
These cuff links represent a collaboration between The Met Store and Tateossian London. The line combines inspiration from The Met collection with the renowned artisanship of the innovative jewelry house, for men's accessories that truly stand apart.
