Cypriot Carved Bead Necklace
Size Information
Art necklaces make unique gifts for her.
This bold necklace echoes the carved biconical shape of ancient Cypriot beads in The Met's Greek and Roman Art collection, dating to around 1600–600 BCE. While the original necklace is made of chlorite, an earthy greenish-gray stone that was used in the ancient Near East for vessels, beads, and other small decorative objects, our reinterpretation uses glossy agate in shades of gray and blue for a polished look.
