The pink bloom on our floral brooch evokes the sprigs of dogwood reaching across a vase made by ceramic artist John Bennett (British, 1840–1907) in 1882. Bennett was instrumental in bringing the Aesthetic movement to America; his lush floral motifs exemplified Aestheticism's "art for art's sake" philosophy.
