Description

The simple form and colorful glaze of this refined small vase recall an original eighteenth-century Qing bottle in The Met collection. Introduced to Europe in the fourteenth century, Chinese porcelains were considered objects of great rarity and extravagance. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, Chinese porcelain production achieved peak excellence in terms of skillful firing of glazes to achieve subtle and attractive coloring effects.

This vase represents a direct connection to this esteemed ceramics tradition that dates back centuries, celebrating this venerable history while presenting new, subtle, and elegant forms. Each piece is made in Jingdezhen, China—where the imperial kilns were once located—and is designed and produced with great attention to quality workmanship and aesthetic standards.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gorgeous color; not as happy with size and shape This vase does not meet my expectations and I plan to return it. I considered giving it as a gift to someone I know would love the color, but in the end I concluded I would just be adding to her clutter because I don't see a lot of utility or beauty in the vase, other than its color. Even though I had the measurements of the vase ahead of time, I didn't really appreciate how small and odd shaped it was until I saw it in person. Yes, there is the word "mini" in the title, but to me this vase looks like a toy to be used when kids have tea parties. The funny thing is that I have many small and even tiny vases that I find beautiful and elegant -- so my negative reaction to this one is not really the size so much as the proportions and aesthetics of it. I guess I am unable to appreciate its beauty; others would be right to feel differently. Just don't become so enamored by the vase's stunning color that you fail to appreciate the word "mini" in its description.
