Description

Our wooden puzzle is inspired by the magnificent Sphinx of Hatshepsut (ca. 1479–1458 B.C.) in The Met collection. This colossal granite sphinx portrays the female pharaoh with the body of a lion and a human head, and was one of at least six granite sphinxes that guarded her mortuary temple. The sphinx has a long history in Egyptian art, the most famous example being the great sphinx at Giza.
