Elephant Glass Ornament
Our glass elephant ornament references a detail from The Animal Creation (1875). In this hand-colored lithograph by Currier & Ives (American, 1857–1907), a towering elephant joins a peaceful menagerie of wild and tame animals gathered near a watering hole. This charming scene echoes a Biblical prophecy from Isaiah 11.6: "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together."
