Description

This vibrant trivet was crafted by Sbigoli Terrecotte, a family-run workshop in Florence, Italy. Established in 1857, the venerable shop produces both decorative ceramics and tableware just steps from the Duomo.

Each piece is hand-modeled and hand-painted with vivid decorative motifs by dedicated artisans. The lively designs pay tribute to the great tradition of Italian maiolica, the colorful tin-glazed earthenware that was produced for daily use in medieval and Renaissance Italy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected better. I bought this tile because it matches a vase I bought in Firenze at this exact tile shop. When the tile arrived I found the painting to be quite inferior to my vase. If it's a family business, it looks like the children are doing these tiles as training for the more important and expensive pieces. It looks more like a Tijuana souvenir than the Italian tile it is described to be.
