Description

This pottery trivet set was crafted by Sbigoli Terrecotte, a family-run workshop in Florence, Italy. Established in 1857, the venerable shop produces both decorative ceramics and tableware just steps from the Duomo.

Each piece is hand-modeled and hand-painted with vivid decorative motifs by dedicated artisans. The lively designs pay tribute to the great tradition of Italian maiolica, the colorful tin-glazed earthenware that was produced for daily use in medieval and Renaissance Italy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what was expected I bought these trivets thinking they were similar to those I've purchased in Italy. These are quite "clunky" (3/4 inch thick and 1 pound, 8 oz). The painting looks like students have done it, one is a bit off-center and the other is badly off-center. I expect a certain amount of variation in hand-painted patterns, but this is just sloppy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from trivet review I bought these trivets as a Christmas present for my sister. They were nice and substantial but I was disappointed in the quality of the painting - in several places the paint was too thin or not complete, not covering evenly the white tile beneath it. Overall, not terrible but not worth the high price.
