Description

The Museum's elegantly antiqued bracelet boasts a decorative pattern of lotus and palmette motifs, based on one of the Greek anthemion drawings illustrated in Owen Jones's The Grammar of Ornament (British, 1809–1874). Palmettes are reflective of the Greeks' respect for nature and regard for mathematical order and harmony.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my expectations! I bought this bracelet from a picture in the Met Museum catalog, not really sure of it's quality, but was pleasantly surprised when I received it. It's lovely! It's got a rich gold tone and a pretty detailed design, making it look like a fine piece of jewelry! I've worn it along with some solid gold pieces and it fits right in! I'm glad I bought it and have been enjoying wearing it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful bracelet! This was the first piece of jewelry I bought from the Met store. That was several years ago. Since then, I have added many beautiful Met pieces to my jewelry collection. This bracelet is a winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greek Palmette Bracelet My wife was looking through your catelog at my in-laws home and she fell in love with the bracelet.  I asked if I could take it home to order it for Christmas....they said yes and she was so happy and excited when she opened it......Thanks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rough edges I bought this bracelet as a gift and was disappointed that edges of the bracelet felt rough, not enough to cut skin, but enough to be uncomfortable. I have bought jewelry from the Met Store in the past and this is not the first time this has happened. They need to do a better job of quality control with their vendors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful design This is an absolutely beautiful cuff style bracelet. It is highly polished with fine details for depth and texture. The edges are smooth and comfortable and will not snag on fine fabrics. The repeating pattern and border are beautiful and my Greek friend had many compliments.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yuck! Unlike the photo, this looks and feels cheap. The kind of thing you might win in a country fair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely! My Dear Mother gave me the bracelet this past Christmas as a gift. I have already received compliments on it. As the texture of the bracelet isn't smooth, it may snag clothing. So, this is something to consider. The bracelet is also not completely round, but rather, slightly squarish, which sometimes makes wearing the bracelet a bit uncomfortable. So, another thing to consider. Overall, however, I like it.
