Hiroshige: Plum Garden at Kamata Notebook
This notebook features a detail of Plum Garden at Kamata, an 1857 woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797–1858) in The Met's collection. He is considered a great master of the Ukiyo-e style, popular during the Edo period (1615–1868) in Japan. Though the most popular subjects of the style were those of performance, such as theater and dance, Hiroshige primarily chose animals and landscapes as his focus.
