Description

Our scarf features an image of The Great Wave at Kanagawa, a polychrome woodblock print by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760–1849). The preeminence of the original work, said to have inspired both Debussy's sonata "La Mer" and Rilke's poem "Der Berg," can be attributed to its sheer graphic beauty and to the compelling contrast between the force of the wave and the calm of the mountain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous My boyfriend bought this for me a year ago from the New Jersey airport shop. It is so lovely. I've always loved this print. The scarf is long and 100% silk therefore it's delicate. The silk feels more on the raw or rougher side. I love it. Have even washed it in cold water in the washer and it held up beautifully. I did put it in a lingerie bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wearable art. The Great Wave off Hokusai is one of my favorite pieces of art. I love being able to wear a version of it. This scarf has the silkiest feel, a lovely hand and drape and looks wonderful with navy, blue, brown, taupe or many other earth and neutral colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! I bought one for myself while visiting MET last October and I was really satisfied - good quality, good finishing, nice printing in silk, elegant - scarves are my "passion" and I'll surely buy some more...they have so many different printings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clear and descriptive. This was one of my husband's Christmas gifts to me. It arrived in a timely manner and it even lovelier than pictured in the Cateloge. Lustrous is appearance and feel. I really enjoy wearing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and well crafted I purchased this scarf as a belated birthday gift for my sister. She was delighted! When I saw it, it was in every detail as graphic and dramatic as depicted on the website. The quality of the fabric exceeded my expectations. A beautiful work of art transformed into a lovely accessory.
