From 1884 on, Winslow Homer ritually visited tropical locations during the winter months, and watercolor became his preferred medium during his travels. Suggestive and experimental, Homer's later-life watercolors such as Flower Garden and Bungalow, Bermuda were widely admired and desired, and bore great influence over the succeeding generations of artists.
