J. Hannah Princesse Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings

These artful sterling silver hoop earrings from J. Hannah reimagine a ring worn by Joséphine-Éléonore-Marie-Pauline de Galard de Brassac de Béarn, the Princesse de Broglie, in her 1851–53 portrait by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (French, 1780–1867). In the painting, now in The Met's Robert Lehman Collection, the princesse wears an arrangement of finely tooled jewels made from pearl, enamel, and gold, including a voluminous rope-like band on her finger. This interpretation for the ear maintains the same twisted form, and was designed to sit close to the lobe for a subtle but detailed impression.
