Description

An art scarf makes a unique gift for her.

Before Lee Krasner (American, 1908–1984) became a key figure of midcentury Abstract Expressionism, she studied at some of New York's best art schools, received a teaching degree from City College, and worked in the mural division of the government-sponsored Art Projects program. Our scarf celebrates the lively, abstracted forms in The Met's Still Life on a Table (1938), an early indication of her radical shift toward the energetic and spontaneous gestures defining Abstract Expressionism.

We're pleased to present this scarf in celebration of Krasner and Pollock: Past Continuous, the first major exhibition charting the full arc of the careers of Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock (American, 1912–1956) in parallel, examining the distinct yet connected practices of these artistic peers and life partners.
