The faint dots, lines, and markings from ancient texts have been transformed into fine sounds, and like medieval poetry, the music is infused with symbolism and a sense of grandeur. "Angelus ad virginem," as Chaucer described, is performed with young voices delicately accompanied by a plucked psaltery. "Summer is icumen in" uses sweet voices and the rousing trills of tambourines to express joy and prosperity to come.
