Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fascinating articles This was my first time buying and reading the Met Journal. I loved it and read it cover to cover. Of special interest to me was the article on Mayan painted cups, since I have visited many Mayan ruins in Mexico. However, every article was of interest to me, placing the art being analyzed in its historical contexts. Sitting with the journal is a great way to spend unhurried time learning about a topic in depth, where visits to the museum can be overwhelming. I will definitely continue to read the Met Journal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Advancing scholarship, extending knowledge I bought this issue of the Metropolitan Museum Journal because of the article on early photography in Africa. It did not disappoint. The Met continues to fulfill its mission to publish cutting-edge scholarship about topics of vital interest in the art world (and the world at large).
