Description

The simple form and colorful glaze of this refined vase recall an original Qing dynasty vase (1644–1911) in The Met collection. Introduced to Europe in the fourteenth century, Chinese porcelains were considered objects of great rarity and extravagance. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, Chinese porcelain production achieved peak excellence in terms of skillful firing of glazes to achieve subtle and attractive coloring effects.

This vase represents a direct connection to this esteemed ceramics tradition that dates back centuries, celebrating this venerable history while presenting new, subtle, and elegant forms. Each piece is made in Jingdezhen, China—where the imperial kilns were once located—and is designed and produced with great attention to quality workmanship and aesthetic standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic shape The vase is a classic Asian shape, simple and clean. The color is a bit bright, but it brings a nice accent to a small group of pottery pieces on my shelf. Thanks--it's a winner.
