Description

Enliven your wardrobe with our fringed wrap featuring bold grids derived from modern art. Nearly 5-feet square, this soft, oversize blanket scarf evokes an early example of the geometric mode of painting that Piet Mondrian (Dutch, 1872–1944) called Neo-Plasticism.

For Mondrian, Neo-Plasticism was a universal style because its emphasis on planar relationships could be extended not only to painting, but also to design and architecture. In this work the artist used thick black lines to divide the canvas into 11 rectangles, some of which he painted in primary colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful and warm! I love this! I bought it recently and it's perfect for a snowy NYC day. I have many Met scarves and this is thicker than most. And big. It kept me very warm on the way to work, and I am using it as a shawl in my chilly office. I purchased two of these, intending to give one as a gift. But I'm thinking now that I'd like to keep them both so that I can keep one at work and one at home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but definitely not a scarf I received this as a gift and I was hoping for a scarf but it is more of a shawl. It’s much too thick to be worn around the neck or under a jacket. It’s not what I was expecting but it does keep me very warm in my drafty house and office. The pattern is beautiful and the knit is very soft and comfortable as well. I suspect it will be fantastic for traveling since it can function as a thick shawl, blanket, or folded up as a pillow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a Scarf This is absolutely not a scarf; it is bigger than the throw I currently have on my bed. I bought it as a gift, and I honestly wouldn't mind the size, but the photo shows the large square being red on the website, and it is absolutely orange. Pros are that it is very soft. Very disappointed in the color being off on the website.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Yes, but ... This is gorgeous, but it is huge. The fabric is soft, the colors are lovely, but it's not a shawl, it's an afghan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More an afghan I thought this would be a scarf, but it isn't! It is heavy and large. I'm considering using it as an afghan or returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love It! I'm a big Mondrian fan, I bought it when I was at the Met store in NYC. It is warm, you can wear it different ways, it is large, but I'm sure you can read the sizes. The only thing is that you can only dry clean it.
