Description

Add a pop of 20th-century color—and a bit of The Met collection—to your wrist with this sleek, abstract watch design.

Our watch design evokes an early example of the geometric mode of painting that Piet Mondrian (Dutch, 1872–1944) called Neo-Plasticism. For Mondrian, Neo-Plasticism was a universal style because its emphasis on planar relationships could be extended not only to painting, but also to design and architecture. In this work he used thick black lines to divide the canvas into 11 rectangles, some of which he painted in primary colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Modrian Watch! I have had several of these MET art watches and always enjoy wearing them. The watches last a long time, the watchbands wear out first and I have had to replace several bands...of course, then you lose some of the total effect with a plain band. They don't seem to always sell the same watches so it's not easy to replace one. SO I was in the mood for a new watch and was immediately captivated by this one. It really livens up the wrist, especially if I'm wearing black or blue or grey. So I am happy to have my new watch, it works wonderfully....just replace the batteries and enjoy the wrist bands while they last! Please keep making these!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot Wear Weill, I can't use the product before using it. The stem -which I assume I need to pull out to get it running - is very stiff & cannot be pulled out easily. Also has a plastic tag on it. So, should I use scissors or a knife to pry it open? It's plastic so that makes it questionable. Called the shop & someone was supposed to call back but have heard nothing. Very disappointed! it's a cute watch & I wanted to wear it. I purchased it at the shop at the Met in NYC & I live out of state so it would be an inconvenience & an expense to return it. Also suggest that instructions should be included in the box with watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funky watch Bought this wonderful watch for my mom who lives in an assisted living facility. She loved it and obviously so did a worker at the facility because after one day of wearing the watch, it was taken out of her apartment. Thinking about buying another but worried that because it is so nice, it will “disappear” again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun, Colorful Attention Getter This watch is a fun, colorful accessory I highly recommend. I work in an art store and deal with many artists on a daily basis. Often customers are attracted to my Mondrian watch and compliment me on it. I always tell them I bought it at the MET store! The only reason I did not award it 5 stars is because the plastic band is difficult to close until it has conformed to your wrist. Eventually is does close easier, but you need patience until then! I don't except the watch to last forever, but it certainly is a great accessory in my opinion and I plan to purchase another version of it soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from it stopped working I bought it perhaps two months ago. Liked it. It stopped working. Not much to add.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from cute but crumby but cheap It is fun to wear, but I don't anticipate it will last long.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cool look Like everything except plastic band is too stiff and impossible to buckle and unbuckle, as it won't bend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Birthday! The older children become, the more difficult it is to find that 'special' gift. This watch filled that role....this year! Have shopped The Met before when in need of something unique and special. Daughter loves it and has already received numerous comments.
