Description

Our unusual tie features a detail of a Japanese porcelain dish in The Met collection, which itself is glazed with a clever design of dishes. This beautiful Edo- period piece (1615-1868) was made about 1690-1720. Known as Nabeshima ware, it is perhaps the most refined and elegant variety of Japanese porcelain, made exclusively for the shogunate family, feudal lords, and the nobility.
