This unique pendant reproduces a detail from Peonies Blown in the Wind, a leaded-glass window made about 1880 by John La Farge (American, 1835–1910), one of the 19th century's most innovative and versatile artists.
This magnificent window is from a series that La Farge based on the theme of peonies in the wind, adapted from Chinese and Japanese handscrolls and porcelains. It was installed in the Newport, RI, residence of Henry Gurdon Marquand, president of The Met from 1889 to 1902.
Our exclusive pendant is meticulously handcrafted in New York City.
