Ottoman Gems Necklace
Size Information
Art necklaces inspired by The Met collection.
Our stone-spangled necklace deconstructs an elaborate knife and sheath in the Museum's collection of arms and armor. The original pieces, made in Turkey sometime between the years 1660 and 1700, are lavishly embellished with gold, silver, and enamel, and bejeweled with turquoise and rubies. Taking inspiration from the Ottoman dynasty's appreciation for exquisite artistry, our reinterpretation combines vibrant, eye-catching beads made from lapis, turquoise, amazonite, and jade.
