Polar Bear Glass Ornament
Our hand-painted ornament nods to the polar bear pictured in The Animal Creation (1875), a hand-colored lithograph by Currier & Ives (American, 1857–1907). A menagerie of wild and tame animals gather peacefully near a watering hole in this charming scene depicting a Biblical prophecy from Isaiah 11.6: "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together."
