In celebration of the opening of The Met Breuer, our exclusive poster showcases a detail of the facade of the Breuer building in New York. The iconic structure was designed by Hungarian-born, Bauhaus- trained architect Marcel Breuer (1902– 1981) and opened in 1966 as the Whitney Museum of American Art. The original image featured on our poster is by New York-based photographer Ed Lederman.
ABOUT THE MET BREUER: The Metropolitan Museum of Art's modern and contemporary art program has expanded to include a new series of exhibitions, performances, artist commissions, residencies, and educational initiatives in the landmark building designed by Marcel Breuer on Madison Avenue and 75th Street. The Met Breuer will provide additional space for the public to explore the art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries through the global breadth and historical reach of The Met's unparalleled collection.
