Description

An art journal inspired by The Met collection.

On the front and back of our recycled leather journal is a detail from an engraving of Adam and Eve (ca. 1512–14) by Marcantonio Raimondi (Italian, ca. 1480–before 1534). Raimondi's richly detailed rendering was based on a composition by Raphael (Italian, 1483–1520), one of the leading artists of the Italian Renaissance. The Museum's engraving is on view in Costume Art, The Costume Institute's spring 2026 exhibition exploring the connection between clothing and the body. Drawing on The Met's vast collection and beyond, Costume Art pairs garments with works of art to show how clothing shapes identity, creativity, and self-expression across time and cultures.
