Description

The sleek design of our Rohde Deco Watch is based on a ca. 1935 electrical clock with chromed metal detailing by American designer Gilbert Rohde (American, 1894-1944). Rohde is noted for adapting European style influences into a uniquely American idiom. In response to the changing tastes of the middle class, his contemporary home furnishing designs incorporated fashionable materials like polished metal, glass, plastics, and exotic hardwoods with innovative functional concepts such as modularity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bring back the Rohde Deco Watch in large This is a GREAT, inexpensive watch. I bought FOUR of the Rohde Deco Watches, Large. It is a lovely, elegant design. Easy to read etc. I had NO problems with the crystals falling off. The only problem is that when the band cracks and breaks (after about a year) there is no way to replace it. And replacement bands are very ordinary in design and don't match the pizzazz of the watch face. So I kept buying replacements. As a result I have FOUR watch faces ticking away in my drawer (oh, yes they are still going strong after years). PLEASE bring back the Large size with the option to buy replacement bands. Thank you

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rohde Deco Watch, Small I wanted a deco styled watch and was caught by this one! The hour hand is JUST visible and seeing the time is not immediately. quickly visible. I find this difficult. Otherwise I like the appearance of the watch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rohde Deco Watch I purchased this watch when I was in New York City several years ago. Then one day I was on an airplane and discovered that sometime during that day the crystal had fallen off. I searched the plane but, alas, no crystal could be found; must have lost it miles away in an airport. By the time I discovered it was missing, the lovely wee hands had been bent. I took it to my favourite watch repair shop in Vancouver but he was not able to fix it. I was so sad and thought I would have to wait for our next trip to NYC (we live on an island in the Salish Sea, far from New York) but the other day I discovered I could order my (MY!) watch on-line. And it has arrived. And it is perfect. Will keep my eye on the crystal this time--especially on airplanes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful watch but questionable quality I bought this watch as a replacement for the first one I had. I love the watch. However the first one didn't last. The face glass fell off within a year. Also, the battery didn't last a year. I'm hoping that was a fluke.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A classic Love the watch face. Do not love the band. 1) It has a very strong, to me, unpleasant odor. I can only hope it disappears in time. 2) I have a very small wrist. Since the band is not adjustable and it is thick, I tack the end down with a piece of Velcro. Not very elegant, but serves the purpose. A fabric adjustable band would be a great improvement. I would buy it in a minute.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap looking Not at all what I expected... poor quality workmanship etc. etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful, but I love the look of this watch. Unfortunatelly, the glass face broke out and I could not replace it. I didn't even have it for a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deco Watch Bought this Art Deco watch for my wife, who loved its design and unique appearance. Unfortunately it stopped working after a couple of weeks. I returned it to the Met Museum Store and was quickly sent another along with a credit for the postage. Very nice product and excellent customer service.
