Description

By Andrew Bolton, Nathalie Agussol, and Julie Wolfe

The Body Electric pairs painted, drawn, sculpted, and photographed representations of the human form with fashion to highlight the importance of dress across art in all media. Produced in a limited edition of 500, each set includes a hand-numbered edition card; an oversize, unbound book of photographs and assemblages that present fascinating juxtapositions while offering the opportunity to mix and remix; and an original signed and numbered print by artist Julie Wolfe on high-quality, archival paper with hand-applied silver foil and watercolor. All elements come packaged in an elegant, embossed linen-covered box with a cotton ribbon. The publication takes inspiration from "I Sing the Body Electric" by Walt Whitman, reproduced in full in the book and excerpted on a vellum overleaf. Metallic inks, die-cut pages, foil stamping, and embossed elements make this beautifully produced Met Store exclusive a must-have collector's item for any fashion lover.
